Miss Kelly Chen completed her secondary education in Japan after she had finished secondary 3 in Hong Kong. She then furthered her studies, majoring in Graphic Design in New York. When she returned to Hong Kong after graduation, her talent was admired by her present agent. Since then, she has begun her acting career.

Miss Chen has been working in the acting field for 7 years. She has released 48 albums, including the Cantonese, the Mandarin and the Japanese albums. She has also acted in 10 movies and numerous concerts and television commercials.

Over the years, she has been honoured with a lot of awards of diverse nature regionally and internationally. In addition, Miss Chen has been selected as "The Most Popular Idol" among the young people for three successive years in the survey done by the City University of Hong Kong. Besides, she has joined a lot of charitable activities and has been appointed as the honorable ambassador of several charities. She has strongly supported in promoting the campaigns such as environmental protection, blood donation, against drugs, fighting corruption and workplace English. As the Honorable China Children Health Ambassador of UNICEF, Miss Chen visited the children in Inner Mongolia and Qinghai in 2000 and 2001 respectively to raise funds for the children in China.

To promote Hong Kong Tourism, Miss Chen has visited Japan twice as the Ambassador of the Hong Kong Tourist Association to introduce the special features of Hong Kong. Moreover, Miss Kelly Chen established the "Kelly Chen Children Education Fund" in 2002, hoping to help more and more needy children.
